About Me

You matter here.
What happened to you matters.

I'm Amanda Boafo — a trauma-informed counsellor and psychotherapist based in Albion Park in the Illawarra region of NSW. My practice is built on the belief that healing happens when you feel genuinely safe, seen, and understood.

Together, we can explore what happened, make sense of it, and help you move forward in a way that feels true to you. You don't need to have it all figured out before you reach out.

I work with young adults through to older adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, complex life transitions, and the kind of pain that's hard to put into words.

What I Offer

Support that meets you
where you actually are.

Sessions are available in-person in the Illawarra, or via phone and video Australia-wide. Medicare rebates are available with a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan.

The Space

A warm, quiet space
made for slowing down.

The Albion Park therapy room is intentionally calm: soft lighting, natural textures, comfortable seating, and a few plants. A space designed so your body knows, before your mind does, that nothing here will rush you.

Tea, water, tissues, weighted blankets and grounding objects are always within reach. You're welcome to sit, lie, walk or simply look out the window.

Acknowledgement of Country

Trauma Matters 2U acknowledges the Dharawal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, work, and provide care. We pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise their enduring connection to Country — to land, waters, and community. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
